AGULERI YOUTHS APPREHEND RECKLESS DRIVER.

A young man of about 20 -years old may face charges after leading ANYA task force on a chase along Aguleri Junction on Thursday morning, 17th August 2023.
Comrade Emeka Chinwuba said the incident began around 11:23 a.m. when his executive received calls from concerned residents about one of the reckless drivers in Aguleri who have been driving without plate numbers. The arrested person was a member of a 5 man group who have been observed to have been driving different unregistered Mercedes Benz in the town and causing a lot of accidents through their reckless drivings. Callers reported the vehicle driving at a high rate of speed with the driver’s door opened. Officers of the Youths located the vehicle a few moments later at Ogbungbogu area and initiated pursuit. The driver of the auto, identified as Mr David from Eziagulu Aguleri drove the Car into the oncoming lanes of traffic for a short distance before diverting to an Automobile workshop where he was apprehended.
While asking him questions by the Aguleri National Youth Association, President, the young man agreed to be one of the Drivers who have been driving recklessly in the Community each time their friends bought a new car.
The car was taken to the Police Station and more search was embarked on where another Mercedes Benz belonging to one Mr Soso from Igboezunu was also impounded and also taken to the police station.
Friends of the car Owners came to the police station in solidarity of their friends where the Aguleri youth leader, Emeka Chinwuba seized the opportunity to reoriente them and on the reason behind impounding of their cars.
The young men subsequently apologized for their actions which they said was out of happiness for buying new cars at their youthful ages and promised to be of good conduct in future.
One of the car reckless Drivers who hails from Rivers State also apologized for his actions and promised never to involve himself in anything the community frowns at. He further explained that he was born and raised in Aguleri and sees the Community as his second home.
The boys were released immediately, except their cars which they were asked to provide one of their colleagues who is still at large after hitting and destroying a generator fence and also damaging another car at Aguleri Junction.
