It was an emotional moment for many when the late Okwuloka of Aguleri, Late Chief Innocent Obiorah Aniesedo, was finally laid to rest after a funeral service held at St. Joseph's Catholic Cathedral Aguleri Anambra State, on Wednesday 21st February 2024.
It was indeed a day of tributes and reflections as guests gathered to bid farewell to a man who had touched many lives. Attendees wore solemn looks and noted that they would miss Okwuloka for the different exemplary roles he played in their lives.
Speaking on the deceased’s legacy, the traditional ruler of Aguleri HRM Eze Mike Idigo said, “Chief Aniesedo was a man of remarkable achievements, leaving indelible marks and lasting impact, not just in our dear community, but throughout the entire Omabala area.
“The Aniesedo family of Aguleri has lost a true gem, and the Igwe in council mourns the loss of a distinguished member with exceptional intelligence. His eventful life will continue to inspire many, especially the younger generation.”
The late Obataobie Okwuloka Aguleri passed away at University Teaching Hospital, Nnewi on February, 9th 2024 at the age of 67.
Until his death, he was the CEO of Eastgate Technologies Ltd, and a member of the prestigious Aguleri Royal Cabinet.
His funeral program commenced with a vigil mass at late Chief Anesodo's compound on Tuesday, February 20th 2024.
On Wednesday, 21st February 2024, at 8.00 a.m., body left the Immaculate Heart Hospital, Aguleri, to Igwe Aguleri Royal Court (Isabanka) where he was received by the Igwe in council.
Thereafter, he lied in state in his compound at 3, Agbalaka Street, Ameze, Aguleri.
A requiem mass was held for his burial at the St Joseph's Catholic Cathedral, Aguleri by 10.00.00 am.
Interment followed at his compound in Agbalaka street Ameze Aguleri after the Mass.
Other funeral ceremonies continue till 6pm.
