On Saturday, February 17th 2024, all roads led to Enugwu Otu Aguleri in Anambra East LGA of Anambra state.
The event was no other than the second Ovala festival of HRH Igwe Emmanuel Igbago Ejiofor and installation of high Chiefs in Enugwu Otu ancient kingdom under the distinguished Chairmanship of Chief Phil Chiadi Ekwenze Enugwu ( Ezeomogo).
Those who were conferred with Chieftaincy titles include: Chief Augustine A Madumelu (Odumodu Atu Egwu)
Chief Ezeoba Ajana (Ochiagha)
Chief Udenka Bomboy Onyejekwe (Mgbogidi)
Chief Mbonu Ikegbunem (Agbogidi)
Chief Nnamdi Chukwuemeka (Mmili Julu Ite)
Chief Odogwu Ekweoba (Odogwu Ego)
And others
These high chiefs were drawn from the seven families that make up Enugwu Otu community which are :
Umuenini,
Umuezunu,
Umu Okpoto
Umu Ekwe
Umu Ugama
Amuleri
Umu Akwu
The installation of Chiefs usually precedes the high point of the event which is the Ovala celebration of the Igwe of Enugwu Otu community.
The Ovala was attended by the high and mighty from all walks of life.
As is well known, Enugwu Otu kingdom has been one of the communities that make up Aguleri town.
The event was so colourful and glamourous.
