A group of armed robbers attacked vehicles at Oyi Bridge, the boundary between Nteje and Umuleri, last night, resulting in the fatal shooting of a 50 years old pastor Chukwudi, an indigene of Ikem Nando.
The incident occurred around 7 pm when the robbers blocked the bridge with sienna bus, wielding guns, brought vehicles and motorcycles to a halt. Eyewitnesses reported that the motorcycle rider was shot dead during the ordeal.
According to eyewitness accounts, the robbery involved multiple vehicles and one motorcycle, all traveling from Nteje. A witness who shared information via WhatsApp stated:
'We were at Oyi Bridge when our vehicles were stopped by the robbers. They were armed, and we saw a dead body lying on the main road. All vehicular movement was halted that night, and I advised our people using the road to suspend travel until the situation was clarified.
